A Timeless Napa Valley Gem The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil has been a consistent highlight of my fine dining experiences in Napa Valley. Perched high above the valley floor, its stunning location offers breathtaking views that are as much a part of the experience as the exceptional cuisine. While every season has its charm, winter is particularly special, with the warm dining room and fireplace creating a cozy, inviting ambiance. The food has always been exceptional and worthy of its star. This time I had the crisp sweetbreads paired with chanterelles, the rich octopus with cranberry beans and chorizo in a flavorful chili sauce, and the sunchoke risotto with shrimp in a delicate hazelnut emulsion. The lamb tenderloin, complemented by niçoise olives and broccoli di ciccio in a tangy lemon sauce, is a masterclass in balance and flavor. Desserts are equally memorable. I had the banana cake, cacao fruit, peanut crémeux, and roasted banana ice cream. It was not too heavy and a great conclusion to the meal. The wine selection is thoughtfully curated, with solid options by the glass, including the delightful touch of a champagne cart. Service is impeccable—attentive and warm without ever feeling intrusive- adding to the overall seamless dining experience. This is undoubtedly one of the most consistent and rewarding fine dining destinations in Napa Valley. Each visit feels like a celebration, and I look forward to returning time and again. It is highly recommended for anyone seeking an elevated culinary journey in an unforgettable setting.

Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. My only reservation is that it is already packed, even in the off season, and we don't need more people to 'discover' this gem!

Always great food and service love talking to the students regarding their journey into culinary arts chef restaurant management. They now include a 20% scholarship tip on the whole bill. I believe it should be the option to pay or not or tip less since it is for a scholarship fund and not for the servers.
