The name "Hakkasan" pays homage to the ‘Hakka’ people from the New Territories of Hong Kong while ‘san’ is the respectful Japanese form of address.     The setting in the Versace mansion is perfect. The fountain, pool, tile work, statues and tapestries are the perfect setting for traditional Italian dining. The ocean air breeze flowing over the open southern wall by the pool perfectly complements the vibe in this ristorante with an authentic trattoria feel. Somehow, I wasn’t even annoyed by the constant picture taking of influencers and other diners as the setting is more like - how could you not? The medium rare lamb chops and truffle gnocchi were perfect. The desserts are a demonstration of the talent of both the chef and the servers. Try the tiramisu to see what I mean.

    Our party of 4 was there for Sunday brunch. Alberto was fabulous throughout and added to the experience. The breakfast buffet was stupendous, a great value, and more than expected. The fried chicken wings were perfectly flavored, the french toast was perfect, the yogurt parfait with optional honey was stellar, and the overall breakfast "buffet" was way better than just a buffet. The band added a local flair and wasn't overpoweringly loud...just the right addition to the ambiance. This was certainly a memorable addition to our Miami Beach experience.
