Shanghai 1814 is so-called as the owner’s ancestors opened their first restaurant in Shanghai in 1814 – the time of the Qing Dynasty, China’s final imperial dynasty. Wow-factor interiors are decadent and glamorous, draped in dazzling chandeliers and adorned with cherry blossom. Exposure to the smoke of the smoldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavor, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.
