Founded in 2014 in Chicago by cousins Jared Rouben (Brewmaster) and Jeremy Cohn (CEO), Moody Tongue is built on the philosophy of culinary brewing, appealing to those with a discerning palate or, as Rouben describes, a "moody tongue." Utilizing his extensive culinary background and brewing education, Rouben approaches brewing with a chef's mindset.     From start to finish, Virtue was absolutely exceptional. We celebrated my birthday with a party of six, and the experience was unforgettable. Our server, Joe (I believe), was incredible—laid-back, attentive, and full of excellent recommendations that enhanced our meal. First off, the celebration of Black excellence in this restaurant is truly inspiring. It’s wonderful to see such a diverse team working seamlessly together, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and joy. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The table favorites included the biscuits with pimento cheese, the tender short ribs, and the baked chicken, which had phenomenal flavor and perfectly crispy skin. I can’t recommend the sides enough—they were all a hit! The desserts were something special—truly homemade in the best way. The red velvet cake was decadent, and the peach cobbler and banana pudding tasted like they were crafted with love by someone’s grandmother. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, whether it’s for another special occasion or just happy hour at their inviting bar. Huge thanks to the chefs and the team at Virtue!

    We enjoyed our visit. The music was great, and the shrimp appetizer was excellent, along with the wings. The entree's were surprisingly underseasoned.
