Open since 2002 Palmettos on the Bayou is a charming and elegant Acadian style restaurant serving classic Creole dishes highlighting fresh Louisiana ingredients. Set on the tranquil Bayou Bonfouca near Old Town Slidell, our waterfront restaurant/event venue is known for its southern charm. Palmettos famous Brunch features live Jazz Saturday and Sunday. The 5,000sqf covered deck provides a dramatic outdoor setting at night for romantic dinners and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere during the day. We are honored to have been named Best Brunch, Dining with a View, and Most Romantic by various local publications throughout the years. We're located at 1901 Bayou Lane, next to Heritage Park.

Locally owned and operated by Louis Ochoa with over 35 years experience in the restaurant business, his goal was to create a restaurant with "from scratch kitchen", that serves local Louisiana seafood, served with southern hospitality. Owner and Executive Chef Melissa Araujo is a 2024 James Beard Foundation Best Chef Southeast Semifinalist. Alma is an award winning Honduran restaurant located in the historic New Orleans Bywater, just outside the French Quarter. Alma means soul in Spanish. The menu showcases Chef Melissa Araujo's Honduran heritage and takes each guest on a journey through food and culture. The mountains in the back, the ocean, the cool air in my face, my best memories were made in this city.
