Yoshi's has served Japan's best traditional dishes to Bay Area patrons since 1972. The menu highlights artfully arranged sushi, fresh grilled seafood, classic Japanese dishes, and vegetarian fare. Patrons can kick off their shoes in the traditional Japanese tatami seating or dine at tables. Expert sushi chefs create sushi and sashimi to order either in the restaurant or in the jazz house. Start the evening in the cocktail lounge before dinner or have a nightcap after taking in a show in the jazz house.

Popoca is a Salvadoran-inspired restaurant in the heart of Oakland. Popoca means “to emit smoke” in Nawat, the language of native people of El Salvador who stoked wood fires to prepare food over a comal for their families. Revered as more than just a means of cooking, smoke represents a prayer or offering to the spirits.Popoca is a mix of heritage and play.     As always everything was delicious and flavorful. I’ve been a fan of Anthony’s cooking since the pop up days. All of his dishes are seasoned to perfection and flavors that all work together perfectly. Drinks were great as well! As always all the love !

    I was invited to dinner at Bocanova in Oakland. The inviting picturesque view of the restaurant and surroundings piqued my curiosity of what I was about to experience. I received a warm welcome as I entered the restaurant by the staff. We enjoyed the amazing appetizers, and I am not a fan of Ahi Tuna, it was awesome. We followed the appetizers with our main course selection: grilled marinated lamb chops and Peruvian style chicken. Delicious! If you haven't visited Bocanova, please visit.

    I went to Bardo Lounge & Supper Club on 27th December with my family. There were 5 of us. We were not celebrating any occasion. In one simple word, our impression was that the food was outstanding! Starting from the first course, the Pickled Seasonal Veg, Apple & Parsnip soup, the Fall Salad and the main entre, we devoured the food. Four out of five of us had the 6 oz, Bardo Burger, which was delicious. Incidentally, we noticed only one dish based on fish, with hardly any sea food in the menu! The service was good! All in all, this was a restaurant where we will go again and again with friends and family!
