A neighborhood gem! This family-run Italian restaurant offers a chic, rustic atmosphere in a downtown Austin landmark historic 1876 building. Enjoy outdoor sidewalk cafe dining just steps from the Texas State Capitol (dog friendly).We feature a wide variety of authentic Italian pastas, pizza, meats, seafood & unique daily specials. Gelato, sorbets and desserts are delicious and made in-house.     We were visiting Austin from out of town for a wedding over the weekend. This was my second time at Perry’s location and brought my friends. The meals were amazing. Our waiter Kyle was also excellent and very entertaining! I highly recommend this steakhouse to anyone who’s visiting Texas as they have multiple locations in and around Dallas and Austin.

    Very nice restaurant. Great food and good service. Definitely recommend having a reservation as they are very busy constantly.

    Saludos! Our food was delicious, ambiance was wonderful and the suggestions Giovanni gave us on drinks, pairings etc. were the cherry on top! I recommend the Brussel sprouts- so crispy and crunchy! I had the filet mignon in black mole as I’m an omnivore. My spouse is a vegetarian. The only downside to our meal which is not unique to Mexta, is serving cauliflower as the vegetarian entree. The industry has been holding on tightly to this choice and has become the default veg-choice. I didn’t have room for dessert but their 3-cheese cheesecake caught my eye. I hope I can stop by at my next visit to Austin. :)
