Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century.     Food portions are generous and flavor full, pizza is outstanding. We've had the skillet bread in the past which was very filling with a rich marinara sauce. The Cream of Crab soup is ok, but not great with more broth than crab. I don't like Sherry, and usually it's put on top of the soup, but here it's cooked into the base which I wish I'd known before ordering. The blueberry cheesecake was rich and creamy with a generous dollop of whipped cream, definitely more than enough to share.

    We had a group of four and everything was devine. Mushroom risotto was smoky and creamy, the mussels in curry sauce was perfect. One in our party had the halibut which was flaky and poached perfectly. We had the steak tartar and French roll as appetizers and the bacon butter was unexpectedly flavorful. The staff was attentive and prompt. We also had a visit from the manager and that was a nice touch. Thank you Belga Cafe for a wonderful meal and a fantastic evening.
