Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs. Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. Established in the heart of Palm Springs at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains, Le Vallauris has been one of the highest rated restaurants in the Coachella Valley since its inception in 1973. The exquisite cuisine at Le Vallauris is prepared by Executive Chef, Jean-Paul Lair, who has graced the restaurant for over 25 years. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 as a home for the Roberson family, who managed Palm Springs' first hotel, The Desert Inn. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite, and local socialites.

    Had a lovely Christmas lunch at Lulu California Bistro. There was lots to choose from on the fixed menu, including vegetarian choices, and the food was excellent. From the appetizer to the dessert, we couldn’t have asked for a better meal! My polenta and cauliflower steaks were delicious and generous and my friend’s prime rib was cooked perfectly and he said that it was the best he’s had in a long while. Lulu was a great choice!

    I rarely give five stars but our Christmas eve dinner at Miro's was truly superb. The lamb meat balls, escargot and three different fish entrees made every discerning one of us very happy. If I could change one thing it would be the somewhat weak wine list that bore little resemblance to what the website promised, but the total experience ranks it at the top of Palm Springs restaurants.

    Elevated setting gives nice view of the city and foothills. We sat outside on Xmas eve and it was beautiful and comfortable. Friendly, efficient service without being intrusive. Never felt rushed. Holiday pri fix menu with varied choices. We all loved the selections from appetizer through dessert. Asked server for suggestion on where to see Xmas lights and her suggestion of Candy Cane Lane in Cathedral City was spot on.

    We definitely recommend this place again. The the ambience and the service was great. The food was spectacular. Nice bottle of wine with lobster salad. The hubby had halibut and I had the lobster ravioli. You cant go wrong with those choices. Kat our server was very attentive and delightful to talk with.
