Pasta is the main event at Fiorella, with rotating antipasti and desserts rounding out the menu.A la carte seating is available both in our indoor dining room and outdoor patio, year round.Indoor seating is predominantly at our chef's counter, with a few high-top tables outlining the space. Table vs. counter reservations are seated on a first-come, first-served basis.Patio seating is shaded from sun in summer and insulated with heaters in winter. Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. Many prefer a plate of fried long hot peppers to compliment the steaks. All desserts and gelatos are made on the premises daily. The Saloon is a Philadelphia neighborhood bar and restaurant with a national reputation. And the parking is FREE!

Mawn is a noodle house with “no rules,” and the first restaurant for Chef Phila Lorn and his wife Rachel, who bring with them close to 20 years of experience in Philly’s restaurant scene. Phila, pronounced “Pee La,” broken English for Philadelphia, is a first-generation Cambodian-American chef. The first in his family to be born here, his parents and siblings came to Philadelphia as refugees in 1985 after surviving the war in Cambodia.Mawn, which means “chicken” in Khmer, the Cambodian language, represents more than one thing. To Phila, chicken was at every meal growing up, and to his parents, chicken represented peacetime. During the war and genocide of the Cambodian people, there was mostly only what was found in nature to eat, including rice and salt. If there was chicken, it meant no war. At the end of that dark time, recipes were lost, and culture was wiped out, but through survival, a new authenticity was born.

    As always the staff at Fiorella goes above and beyond. We arrived for a Valentine’s Day reservation at 5:30 inside but an earlier seating wasn’t budging and we ended up not being sat until around 6. The staff immediately apologized for the wait and set us at ease by saying, “please take your time and don’t feel rushed — we have rearranged seatings.” We then were given a welcome glass of wine and a complimentary pasta for our patience. Again the staff just went above and beyond. Every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience once again.

    What an incredible restaurant. They have parking/valet options. Shoot out to Nick and Greg for taking care of the car. We got there early but they were able to seat us. They have high chairs for the little ones. Food is outstanding. Service is even better. Make sure you go, and go often.

    Absolutely delicious food packed with flavor. Every dish we ordered was perfectly done. The papaya salad was delicious and a must try - who says that about a SALAD. The marinated beef skewer melted in your mouth. The noodles were of course a stand out! I'd probably skip the crab stir fry. It was good, but not great like everything else I tried. And make sure to save a bite of room for the rice pudding. It s was all phenomenal
