Located in Hawthorne"s historic Degray house, Bottagra Restaurant opened its doors in early 2008. What was once used as an encampment for General Lafayette's troops during the Revolutionary War has been transformed into a modern, elegant restaurant with the feel and charm of a Tuscan villa. Chef-Owners Robert Vicari and Carlo Carbonaro have fused their extensive restaurant experience together to offer a variety of dishes hailing from both the northern and southern regions of Italy. Offering a full bar and extensive wine list, as well as private rooms, Bottagrais a diners' dream for gatherings both large and small.

    I brought a friend that has never been to this restaurant and he was very pleasantly surprised. Service was amazing, but most importantly the food was fresh and tasted great. The yellowfin tuna tartare is definitely a dish worth coming back for. But, also there was a special of Hawaiian barracuda with mango and jalapeño salsa! It was divine and hopefully not only a special in the future. This place is a hidden gem on route 46. Love!!!!

    Our visit for the Burger/Wine combination was wonderful. The best Burger I ever had. Service was top notch. I liked the atmosphere and I enjoyed the Drinks.

    Comfort, creative and professional is the entire F1rst experience at this gem of a restaurant. Chef Adam and team are at their top game with seasonal vegetables and meals that marry art and flavor. The grilled octopus was tender and a spring bouquet on the plate. A halibut filet with root vegetables provided alternating bites of flavorful crisp and tender moist - Just discovered a private room perfect for a gathering of 30!!
