We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

An intimate and informal space, with a DJ booth and bespoke sound-system, Jazu is a Hi-Fi Cocktail bar that offers serious drinks and music.     With the pleasure of dining at Hawksmoor Wood Wharf to celebrate a special birthday, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The porterhouse was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The side dishes complemented the steak beautifully, each one thoughtfully prepared with attention to detail. The desserts were a highlight as well, particularly the indulgent chocolate plate that arrived with a candle, a lovely touch to make the evening even more memorable. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to make the celebration feel truly special, showing genuine care and attention to every detail. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf really knows how to deliver a top-notch dining experience, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to enjoy great food in a welcoming, professional setting.

    Lovely new spot in Peckham. Staff all attentive, friendly and really helpful - felt well looked after. Dad's broth is star starter. We had an issue with timing on main course but it was well managed and communicated by the team. By the time it did arrive sadly we'd gotten full so also didn't order dessert which was a shame as the chocolate delice looked very appealing.

    A great local Bistro/cafe with a great ambience. Food and drinks are always great as is the service. Enjoyed Thursday Mac and Cheese which is excellent value and delicious. Highly Recommended.
