Zagat Survey calls it: Carmel’s long-standing paean to graciousness in dining out. Along with updated and contemporary changes to the menus, ultimate table side service flambé desserts remain. As quoted in the Wine Spectator, Anton and Michel is “probably the best dining experience in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea”.

Dametra Cafe is a casual Mediterranean restaurant. Here, diners can expect high-quality healthy food delivered quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. The decor and styling of the dining room is distinctly Greek, specifically like one of the many coastal cities that the country is known for. Between that and the hearty portions and prompt service, Dametra Cafe sits nicely between an upscale restaurant and quick-service places.Dametra's Cafe features primarily Greek cuisine, with some Italian and Spanish thrown in for good measure.     This place was outstanding! The food was great & the service was even better! We came for our anniversary and got treated with Prosecco just as we arrived! Jacob was very attentive about the menu and made our experience great! We would come back to Carmel just to eat here again!

    Stunning historic house turned chic restaurant This was the best dining experience in our trip to Monterey The atmosphere is gorgeous and interesting with the different rooms used in this house. Service is impeccable and the food was really on point. Way better experience than any restaurant on cannery row (like the Charr House) Will come here again and again. It is pricey. Just know that but everything was to perfection at least.

    Great dining and ambiance. Wait staff and front of house personnel are top notch. Even with being in a high tourist area this restaurant delivers a five star experience at a reasonable cost. And they have been here for 45 years. We have been customers since opening. Who would have thought… Keep up the good work!

    We had the pleasure of having a Chanukah/Christmas lunch here and it was amazing. The meal was superb with moments of perfection; but the best part was the service. We were hosted by Sarah who made the entire experience truly exceptional. We have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants around the globe, and the service from Sarah was on par with the finest places we’ve been. Our highlights were the cheese plate, the mushroom risotto, and the pineapple polenta cake (so good), but the meal would not have been half as good without the service. Thanks for a wonderful time!
