We’ve been to SY Kitchen many times, when we visit the Santa Ynez area. The food and service is outstanding. Their wood fired pizza is simply the best pizza I have ever had—including Rome. Pastas are well cooked and use the freshest ingredients. Prices are fair, commensurate with the quality. Their outside seating is my choice, as it’s quiet and mellow. The inside is more lively. Lots of locals eat here, which is a good sign.

The ambiance was excellent for lunch with outdoor seating and calming background music. Service was very slow but only one waiter for all the outside tables so it wasn't his fault. Once we ordered the kitchen turnaround was quick. The date salad was excellent.

Visiting Solvang for the first time, my family and I went twice to this restaurant! I really enjoyed the two meals I had - Fish of the day (I chose the Halibut), and it came with such yummy potatoes! I also had the Chicken parmesan, the right amount of seasoning and cheese, and it was very soft! Also the (non-alcoholic) cucumber sparkling drink! Oh! And that tiramisu was one of the best ones I've tried so far! The bartender, waiters, host, cooks, busser, and every staff member were so nice! And they even recognized us coming back. Keri was the kindest server. She was so full of love and very attentive. We really appreciated her suggestions, energy, thoughtfulness, efficiency, friendliness, and overall loving demeanor. She really made our experience so memorable and wonderful and every single way. This is honestly some of the best food we have ever had. Oh my goodness make sure to order the cornbread and get the street corn! It is truly the best dinner and we regret not ordering dessert. We would come back tomorrow, but you guys are closed on Christmas, which I’m happy so people can be with their families. All around wonderful restaurant we literally wanna fly in our families from around the country to come try the food because it’s that good! we will definitely be back the next time. We are in town.
