We’re 1,640 ft. closer to heaven.Growing grapes at a higher altitude affect our vines and wines in wonderful ways. At 1,640 ft above sea level, the climate ripens grapes slowly and evenly while the rocky soil infuses the wine with a flavorful aroma of minerality. Our complex soils encase our vine roots giving our wines a unique expression of mountain terroir.We specialize in crafting Bordeaux varietals, including cabernet sauvignon, merlot, red blends and sauvignon blanc. We are passionate about winemaking, using a blend of old world European techniques and modern technology to influence our wines.100% estate-grown. 100% hand-picked. 100% hand-crafted. 100% of the time.Grapes picked by hand. Wine made by hand. We grow all of our grapes on our estate and handpick the harvest at nearly freezing temperature in the early morning, ensuring only weathered-cooled grapes make it down the hill to the winery.

    Excellent Food Server was great and very attentive and pleasant Negative: Hostess told us we had to leave by a certain time and they needed our table back by 7:45 upon our arrival which was not very tasteful

    We go there frequently as its just a few miles from our home. The food is great, the service is always a 5 out of 5 and Never been disappointed. If you want a great meal, great service in a upscale atmosphere, this is the place. Its a great place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or just enjoy one of the best meals with a scenic view and the best chef’s and waitstaff. We go there usually weekly and never been disappointed.

    Mercantile is tucked away in downtown King. It delivers both flavor and ambiance. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm lighting, stylish decor and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu offers a great selection of dishes. I have tried almost every appetizer, and they are perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The steak is some of the best I have had - tender and flavorful. I HIGHLY recommend trying the mac & cheese for your side. The drink selection is also equally impressive. Service is Top Notch - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They make great recommendations and ensure that every detail is taken care of. Mercantile does not disappoint. We live in Yadkinville and have made the drive multiple times. A+++
