We set out to create the kind of establishment we'd love to find in one of the UK's most beautiful cities, one where old-fashioned hospitality is valued, food is delicious and where beautiful surroundings can be found hidden around every corner.From breakfast where we serve our unique Beforenoon Tea - the breakfast edition of afternoon tea - to lunch which includes Assembly House classics and grazing boards, we're open seven days a week. We're most famous for our themed afternoon teas which change regularly and are served from noon until last service at 3.30pm daily. As the Home of Afternoon Tea, we also serve some spectacular savoury versions of tea, including Beforenoon Tea, seafood option Afternoon Sea and our cheese-based option Afternoon Cheese. On a very cold day, the Pub was warm and cosy. Not overly busy but not expected in early January. Service was very good, food was good as usual. It’s a lovely traditional pub restaurant and serves tasty homemade food at decent prices. Also dog friendly. Very recommended.

Very quiet at The Buck, to be expected so soon after Christmas. Really perfect time to catch up with an old friend. Great service from our waitress and fabulous food. It was very nice to be able to park easily in the car park, it's usually rammed which says a lot for how popular a place it is.

Our party enjoyed the Peter Pan afternoon tea. It was excellent!! One of the party is gluten and lactose intolerant and they were provided with a separate stand of food. Their items looked exactly like the other one. Service was efficient and the staff were extremely friendly. A beautiful setting.
