Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Kids can play while families are waiting for a table, or simply enjoying the amazing waterfront views.

Gusto Ristorante is a Northern Italian restaurant with a touch of the South at the Sea Turtle Marketplace in Hilton Head Island.The executive chef and owner Giancarlo Balestra with his wife Nancy bring the vibrant flavors of his native hometown of Rome, Italy to Hilton Head. The couple who met in Rome 28 years ago discovered their shared passion for food and adventure and have since owned and operated restaurants in Aspen, Co, Winter Park, Fla and Saratoga Springs, NY. They fell in love with Hilton Head and decided to jump into this new exciting culinary adventure, hence the name Gusto, which means flavor and taste in Italian but also means a zest and enthusiasm for a delicious taste of life.     We'd been to Frankie Bones before. This was an excellent meal with excellent service as was our previous visit. Our waitress, Karen, was outstanding. We will likely return to Frankie Bones before leaving HHI. If we do, we will ask for the same waitress, Karen. She was as good as it gets. We didn't have to ask for anything. She anticipated everything.

    Gusto never disappoints! I would absolutely recommend this spot for Christmas Eve service again and again. Abby was our server and she was incredibly personable and attentive. Each course was timed well and we never went long without a check in for drinks or anything we might need. The food was all fresh and flavorful and the portions were enough to take leftovers if that’s your thing! We are repeat customers and we will definitely be back.

    Christmas Eve dinner. We had a reservation and were immediately seated. The restaurant has a nice vibe. Fancy without being stuffy. We were sat in the main dining room which has water front views. Our waiter (I believe he said Kumar but my hearing is not good) was excellent. The food was really good. We started with honey lime shrimp & a bottle of wine Husband had flounder with a spicey vinaigrette with risotto and vegetables and I had the salmon Rockefeller with mash and asparagus. We both loved the meals we chose. Finished with Hummingbird cake (YUM!) and coffee. We enjoyed every aspect of our experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Our first experience at Wiseguys was Christmas Eve dinner and it was fabulous from start to finish. We were late making plans so our original reservation was for the enclosed patio but we received a phone call that they had a high top reservation open up so we were so happy to take it! The restaurant was nicely decorated for the holiday but would be very nice any time. We each ordered something different: shrimp scampi, blackened fish, scallops, and Brussel sprouts. Everything was well presented and delicious. Although the restaurant was extremely busy, our service was exceptional. Our server checked back with us often and our drinks stayed full. This is a place that we plan to return to!
