Chef Eugenia Hobson and her team prepare authentic Greek dishes served attentively in a breezy Aegean-inspired atmosphere. Our signature dishes include the grilled octopus, the kolokithokeftedes (stuffed zucchini fritters), the lavraki whole fish (branzino) filleted table side, and the arni giouvetsi (lamb shank with orzo). Our selection of nine desserts are all made fresh daily in-house and feature Greek classics such as the baklava and the galaktoboureko. The menu follows a Southern-fried meat-and-three concept, meaning diners order a meat, plus three sides. Those will include Ruthie’s mac and cheese, of course, but also white-soy-braised greens, stewed chickpeas and smoked cauliflower with a spicy soy glaze. “We’re going to be changing it a lot based on seasonality,” Hill says of the menu. “ Every vegetable has got to be fantastic because it has to stand on its own.” One thing that will help that: Hill is already growing all of the restaurant’s own herbs at his South Arlington community garden plot.

We had a perfect Christmas Eve dinner. The adults loved the veal, branzino, chicken piccata, ravioli, and arancini. The grandchildren equally loved the pizza and pasta. The atmosphere is elegant and comfortable. The tables are adequately spaced so you aren’t squeezed in. The wine list is reasonably priced and the staff is attentive. It was a memorable evening in a wonderful restaurant.

Copperwood is a perfect winter spot. The menu has something delicious for everyone -- it is high-quality comfort food with plenty of veggies and sides as well as meat and fish options. The ambiance is super warm, cozy and inviting -- with classy mountain cabin vibes. The staff accommodated additions to our party and seating requests, despite being very busy. The service was great -- drinks and food came out quickly and correctly. We ordered cocktails, salads, oysters, a variety of entrees, and desserts. Not a bad choice among them. I'll be hanging at CT this winter, an you should too.
