A contemporary take on the classic oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal. Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Our menu consists of regional seafood prepared in a variety of styles: Charbroiled Oysters and Shrimp Remoulade share the stage with classic seafood towers and Oysters Rockefeller. A rotating selection of larger plates features items such as Black Cod Almondine and Blackened Swordfish Belly.To drink, Strange Delight updates old classics, serving both a Hurricane and Ramos Gin Fizz service for 2, alongside Martinis and Sazeracs. Our wine and beer lists feature our favorite American producers.     My mother-in-law spent hours researching spots for a holiday gift card/surprise family dinner and landed on Piccola Cucina. The unassuming Casa is tucked away on a quiet street we might not have otherwise noticed, but you are greeted with warmth the moment you open the door. From the cozy lighting, to the gentleman making fresh pasta at the bar, to the friendly staff, it was Nona’s homey perfection from start to finish. Our server Cynthia offered great menu and wine guidance as we attempted to taste it all. The prices are very reasonable versus portion size. Octopus, Branzino, Gnocchi, and Osso Bucco Agnolotti were standouts. Can’t wait to be back!

    Love our meal at strange delight. The room is surprisingly beautiful. The cocktails were very well-made. And the dishes we tried were wonderful. Prices are definitely high, the gin ramos fizz is $10 more than when it was reviewed in August, but I would return. The food, drinks and ambulance were wonderful.

    We did the $45 pre-fixe menu and it was a great value. The food was quite delicious and the service was attentive and hospitable. Loved the poached egg with mushrooms and spinach appetizer! It was flavorful. I could eat that everyday. Will definitely be back again.

    Great, small restaurant that’s chef owned. Authentic, yet creative menu. Nice atmosphere. Definitely sit at the sushi bar and watch the magic happen.
