Located in Oakland’s historic Grand Lake District, Bardo is a neighborhood lounge and restaurant inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party. Drawing on the celebration and elegance of old school entertaining, we envisioned a space for friends and neighbors to enjoy amazing food, cocktails, conversation and great music. Our lounge is a swank living room, furnished with hand-picked finds from antique and vintage markets from Palm Springs to Portland. Our mezzanine dining room features a rotating menu of fresh, seasonal supper-fare with local and sustainably sourced meats, fish and produce. The food is phenomenal. The atmosphere is lovely. Each dish has its own flavor profile, the flavors are amazing, the quality and presentation is amazing. A meal I dream about until the next time we go back. Love the Oxtail Stew, the meat platters are fantastic. The tissue bread, the artichokes, the mussels are all fantastic. And desserts are out of this world.

The restaurant is nice. Great low lighting and the white table cloth with the white paper is a nice touch. The food was great. We had appetizers, a main course and dessert. Everything was good and the wait time was not too long. The manger performed leader rounding and the waitress was attentive.
