Sunday lunch for two at The Cookhouse, utterly delicious. Pork and beef cooked beautifully, vegetable selection superb and cooked to perfection (roasted carrot and steamed veg particularly delicious as well as the parsnip and roasted potatoes), tasty gravy and a well cooked Yorkshire pudding, all excellent. Service, exemplary, attentive and friendly, couldn't be more helpful.....kitchen had run out of pigs in blankets, yet somehow threw tasty ones were rustled up for us...above and beyond! Thank you to the whole team!

I booked this restaurant as well were on a trip with Caledonian travel and my daughter didn't want anything that was on the set menu . We were the only people in the restaurant. Staff were very accommodating. My daughter ordered the lasagne and I ordered these steak. It came with a few roasted vegetables but that wasn't really enough. I did have some of my daughters fries.The steak was cooked how I like it but they used so much pepper on it that it actually spoilt it. So pleased I ordered the mushroom sauce and not the pepper sauce. My daughter said the lasagne was nice. I ordered a chocolate fudge cake for dessert and that was ok. Abit on the dry side but ok.
