In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

    Rudy and Pacos proves that Galveston can do premier food and service. The menu offers many quality dishes in a wide range of tastes. The staff is well trained and professional. I appreciate the can do attitude of the entire experience. They are generous with time and resources to make each visit special for the patron. We love this place and feel like VIPs when we visit. We will be back

    We had a wonderful time. We had two appetizers for the table and the buffalo snapper was delicious. Also the seafood cerviche. The crab cake was one person’s entree and it was delicious. Two had the grouper and shrimp which they thoroughly enjoyed. One of our guests was a cordon bleu chef who lives and works in France. He really enjoyed the meal. We had key lime cheesecake and sticky toffee for dessert. All great choices. Jacob took great care of us and the meal was a complete success. Thank you!

    Hearsay’s is always great. This visit was a Mardi Gras Balcony Party for my Krewe and Hearsay’s did not disappoint. 5 Stars

    Pasta was a little too done. I prefer more al dente however, the combination of sauces and seafood more than made up for this. I had never had Tile Fish before but it was prepared to perfection. Again, the sauce and crabmeat enhanced the flavor. Our server was excellent and everything was explained and served properly. A very enjoyable experience.
