Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant, maximalist restaurant inspired by the life and spirit of Chef Thomas Pisha Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien “Tina” Vandenberg. Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. The menu draws from Tina’s life story, taking influence from the craveable, soul-satisfying hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia and “turning up the volume” with exaggerated yet balanced flavors in Chef Tom’s signature style. Oma’s serves dinner accompanied by a seasonal list of hand-crafted cocktails and zero-proof drinks.

Not too many places can do as many things well as this particular eatery. If guests just need some premium meat to bring home to cook, the butcher shop has its own entrance at the side of the building where guests can peruse all kinds of cuts of beef, lamb, pork and various kinds of house made sausages and pate. Naturally, Laurelhurst Market's menu focuses on the many fine cuts of meat that are cut on-site as well as farm fresh produce. I am blown away by the food, ambiance, and the service I received! It was my birthday and they not only accommodated a large party, they made sure to work with us when ordering! I also got a round of mini maitai slushies and a giant rice krispie. We ordered the whole menu (party of 7) and were full and satisfied with everything. This is definitely a new favorite of mine!

Delicious food, especially for the cost. The bartender was our server. Very helpful, great service. Deviled eggs are insane. Beet salad was a genius combo of flavors and the ny strip was tender and juicy. I advise getting it med or med rare.

Great meal again! Love this place. It's my Go-To when in the area. Great selection of dishes, drinks. Love the layout, ambience. Service from Megan R was awesome! She really did a great job of taking care of us! The food was really good, my cobb salad was great! Keep up the great work!

We had a Birthday Party for our son and his friends. He loved everything about it the service was amazingly great 😊 our waitress Sky was so sweet and friendly and helpful with us , it was perfect.
