Situated down a quiet side street, on the corner of elegant St Peter’s Square, The Carpenter’s Arms is an independent nineteenth-century pub with a beautiful garden where the food is the star.We focus on simple, beautifully cooked seasonal food. Our menu and Specials Board change daily: Simply cooked sustainable fish; British meats; delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes and tempting puddings to finish. Villa di Geggiano has for more than five centuries, been renowned for hospitality and generosity as well as delicious food and sumptuous wines. Located at the heart of Tuscany, it has a history of exporting mouth-watering wines to England, having been possibly the very first to bring Chianti here in 1725. The menu features true Tuscan cuisine, with many of the ingredients being imported especially from the Villa and surrounding farms. The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment. This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery. Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber… John Dory, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores and although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name it also has a very British name, John Dory. Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ – Like a few other Latin occupational names (e.g. Agricola for farmer, Nauta for sailor). Smith being the most common name in English we decided it sits well with our name as we want to be accessible to all and give everyday people the opportunity to be part of our journey and own the business they work in.What sets us apart is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients. This means that everything on our menu is fresh, sustainably sourced, and supports the local economy.We believe in creating dishes that are not only delicious but also ethical and responsible.

I usually love the chicken Milanese as it’s very thin and crispy. Today it was thick and a bit tough. Not quite as good as usual.

Wonderful atmosphere and a very warm welcome from all staff. The restaurant has a warm and chilled feel to it and it was comfortable and easy to chat with my fellow diners. The food was excellent; simple and flavoursome and exactly what was needed on a cold wet day. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good Middle Eastern cuisine. Will be visiting again!

My wife and I came for a mid-week dinner. Really impressed by everything about the place, but especially the food. We both had fish - cod and halibut - which was excellent. Also very good Otter beer on draft. We had a table at one end of the bar, next to an open fire which added to the pleasant experience. We don’t live locally, but, if we did, we would be regulars.
