In case you haven’t heard, Makoto has moved to an awesome new space on the 3rd floor. Re-envisioned by Paris-based designer India Mahdavi, it’s a bold new look which will take your dining experience to a whole new level. Bright colors and cozy banquettes. More outdoor dining. Makoto Okuwa ushers Japanese cuisine into the 21st century at his eponymous eatery, located on the 3rd floor of the luxurious Bal Harbour Shops. One of Miami’s most accomplished chefs, Okuwa, a master of Edomae-style sushi, reshapes tradition for a savvy audience eager for something new. Aba, meaning father in Hebrew, is a Mediterranean restaurant with a California influence. The menu features Top Chef Winner Chef CJ Jacobson’s modern approach to Mediterranean cooking, and the beverage program showcases spirits and rare wines from lesser known Mediterranean regions.     Delicious , flavorful food. The miso sea bass was a 10 as was the hot chocolate cake. Good vibe and energy but not so loud . Always make time to dine here when I am in Miami . Highly recommend.

    Tonight there were 8 of us and as usual had a great time. After cocktails our appetizers arrived which were shared by all. Our main dishes were all served hot and delicious and just as ordered. Thereafter, we had some hot drinks and shared 3 desserts. All in all, a nice way to spend the evening with friends. Already, have two more reservations booked.

    Amazing , I can’t wait to return . Incredible service from our waiter and bartender who was so nice to us . A wonderful meal : hummus with short rib ( wait a minute), Greek salad ( rivals Milo’s ) , lamb chops (OMG) , charred cauliflower and a boozy Negroni that had a Spiced pear liquor , with a tanqoueay 10 martini for me .     The restaurant is very nice. Has nice ambience. The food is good but a little pricey . The music is a little loud for my taste and also they need to have more tables for two. We have visited this restaurant twice and both times they sat us at the bar because they save the tables for parties of four or more.
