Napa Valley Bistro was opened in 2013 by chefs Bernardo Ayala and Ernesto Martinez, (also co-owner of Market in St. Helena). Their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted over 20 years was so successful, they decided to pool their resources and stake a claim in downtown Napa's expanding culinary scene. Their aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. The twist is evident in the menus, which sample fare from around the globe. Guests can choose from traditionally prepared Mexican Empanadas or timeless American favorites like the Lamb Burger and St. Louis Ribs.     Another fabulous experience at Coles. Scratch that.. it was damn near perfect. No details overlooked this evening. Brian did a fantastic job taking care of us as we celebrated our son’s 22nd birthday. Crazy to think we have been going to Coles since before he was born!

    Our 2nd time to dine here. The service and food reflect on the consistent Michelin ratings ( 7 years ) Our specialist Martin was at the top of his game Truly helpful explaining the fine details of each serving Chef Yamamoto did not disappoint. Enjoyed the Wagyu and the Duck on top of the dumpling. The Sea Breem had an amazing ponzu gel Only complaint is the year 2020 vintage of Rindo should not be served since that’s a horrible year for wine because of the Napa fires. Still good but it clouded my judgement on the wine because of the suspect issues of the fires to the vines Never the less we had an epic dinner Arigato🙏🏼🇯🇵

    Their mothership restaurant, Don Giovani has been one of my favorites for years. Truly enjoyed this new place. Felt like I was walking into a New York restaurant. I knew the space previously and they did an outstanding job of reinventing it. The food was really fantastic...we went for meat instead of pasta and I have never been served a pork chop like the way they prepare it. Heads up, the portions are generous, and you might want to consider sharing salads (for sure) as well as mains. Only off comments...a glass of Schramsberg very high priced for what it is...and we had to wait for our table , but the place was packed for a Wednesday night...and can easily understand why one would want to linger at their table. Great staff, attentive, professional , and great moods. Will definitely return, great for a celebration.

    This was our first visit to Tarla and it was a very pleasant experience! Our waitress Kimberley was exceptional -warm, courteous and efficient. Tasty food and nice ambience. They even went out of their way to give us a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a birthday! Will go again for sure.
