Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall. Known for hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Today, we offer timeless classics and new seasonal delights with ingredients that are always farm-fresh.

Long before the farm-to-table trend invaded America, Louisa’s espoused this philosophy, and served food to match. The tiny-but-iconic eatery was established in 1980 and has been dishing out incredibly fresh and delicious food in the small historic yellow building ever since. The menu is all regional fare — fish caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, plus vegetables, fruits, herbs (and beautiful fresh flowers) from West Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm, augmented by produce from other New Jersey farms.The kitchen philosophy is to cook simple, expertly seasoned dishes that are lovingly prepared and made from fresh, first-rate ingredients.     We enjoyed dining from the new cafe menu for dinner. Our honey squash soup was wonderful and we both enjoyed our entrees, I had the skirt steak and my husband had the fresh pasta! We finished our lovely dinner with chocolate dessert which was very good. Thank you for offering this excellent value during the month of January.

    We dine in Cape May often at the better places such as The Ebbitt Room, Tisha’s, Washington Inn, Peter Shields and of course Maison Bleue. It’s hard to say which is the best but Maison Bleue is probably our favorite if I was perfectly honest. The food is definitely the best. Finely crafted, well presented, hot and cold as necessary and extremely flavorful. Anna was great as our server. Professional, well informed, attentive and friendly. Dorothy, I believe to be one of the owners, visited our table and wished us Happy New Year and is so pleasant. Pricing is in line for such quality food and service. I can’t express enough things about how good the food is as I think about it more and more. Just soooooooooo delicious. Thank You MBB!

    Once again and home run meal! Crab cakes and the swordfish chimmichuri were delish! Allison was the sole server poor thing but was lovely and friendly ! Thank you !

    Small intimate dinning room in the Washington pedestrian mall. Professional, friendly & attentive staff. Attractively decorated for the holiday while still maintaining elegance. It is BYOB. The New England Clam Chowder was flavorful with generous amount of clams. Husband had grilled polenta with broccoli rabe & fresh shaved Pecorino Romano cheese “like Mom used to make.” I couldn’t finish my seafood risotto. So generous was the portion of local shrimp, scallops & clams though I tried ! Husband had Shrimp & Salmon with mash potatoes in chili sauce. Delicious. Try the Pumpkin cheesecake & you’ll think it’s Thanksgiving again. Highly reccomended
