Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. Other carefully selected ingredients are wagyu beef, free-range pork, and seasonal vegetables. Specially designed tableware of Malcolm Greenwood and tables made of Tasmanian Oak is also creating a great atmosphere. Enjoy your time in this amazing space of hospitality.

Table reservations are only accepted for the restaurant, not the rooftop. A set menu applies to groups of 8 or more. If you have a party of 8+, please make an enquiry at bookings@babylonrooftop.com.au. A customary 10% gratuity fee for groups of 8+ applies in the restaurant. The Rooftop is our bar area and is available on a walk-in basis for groups of 1 – 14. We do not accept online bookings for this area. A full a la carte bar menu is available to order all day. Groups of 15+ must enquire at bookings@babylonrooftop.com.au. Minimum spends apply. Please note, if you book the restaurant, and on arrival decide to move to the rooftop, a cancellation fee of $50pp will apply. Please view the restaurant and bar menus on our website as they differ.On public holidays a 15% surcharge applies. On Sundays a 10% surcharge applies. We hope to host you soon!

IZAKAYA MASUYA is one of the first izakaya-style restaurants in Australia, introducing Japanese sake from various areas in Japan. At lunchtime, a range of takeaway menus including nutritiously balanced BENTO (lunchbox) menus and a variety of sushi rolls and DONBURI (rice bowl) menus attract local customers. The store serves various dinner menus from Charcoal grilled wagyu beef to grilled chicken, tempura, Kyoto-style Temari sushi, and hot pot. The concept of the store is to convey the beauty of Japanese sake to the world including Australia.

The Rooftop is our bar area and is available on a walk in basis for groups of 1-14 guests. We do not accept general online bookings for the rooftop bar. A full bar meze menu is available to order from on the day. For parties of 15+ please enquire at bookings@babylonrooftop.com.au - minimum spends apply.The only reservations accepted on this page are for prepaid experiences.Every Saturday we offer Meze and Mimosa bookings at 11:00am which includes 1.5 hours of bottomless Mimosa's and chefs selection meze. On Sundays we offer Sunday Meze and Mimosa bookings at 12:00pm which includes 1.5 hours of bottomless Mimosa's and chefs selection meze. The price to book this experience includes a 10% surcharge for Sunday bookings.Reservations for the Restaurant inside can be made through Babylon RESTAURANT open table. On Public Holidays a 15% surcharge and on Sundays a 10% surcharge apply to all food and beverage
