Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. The menu will highlight staples from the Shaya menu plus an array of small plates, hummus, sandwiches, and slow-roasted meats.

Open since October of 1990, The Dakota has been a pioneer in the culinary industry on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. Their cuisine is influenced by the flavorful Creole cuisine, with Contemporary Louisiana. Other influences include the Southwest, California, and Asia using fresh local and seasonal ingredients.     Best steak I’ve had in a very long time. It was superb! I have dined at all of the high-end steak houses and Desi Vega’s beat them all! My filet was tender, cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We paired our steaks with the potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. The drinks were well made and the service was top notch. We will be back!

    We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary with an early 5pm dinner. The restaurant was relatively quiet when we arrived as there were several empty tables. Our meal was delicious and our cocktails were very good. We enjoyed the shrimp with polenta starter. The flavors were perfection. The grilled Caesar salad was yummy as well. For our entrees I got the scallops which I thoroughly enjoyed. My husband got the special which was a whole yellow snapper lightly crusted and fried with chimichurri and roasted potatoes. The presentation was impressive. We had a lady from a different table ask to take a picture of it. It was one of the best fish dishes we’ve had. For dessert they brought out a special chocolate surprise for our anniversary which was sweet and we also got the burnt goat cheesecake which I loved. It wasn’t super sweet. Overall had a great experience. Service and ambiance were top notch. Can’t wait to go back!

    Last night four of my friends and I dined at Gallager’s Grill. As always it was a great experience. We got our favorite table with our favorite server and the food was fabulous! Pat Gallager stopped at our table to check on us and to visit a bit. We plan to go 1 more time before the year is out. I highly recommend Gallagers Grill to any true steak or seafood lover!
