Accessed from the High Street and through a glass lobby, Quod restaurant with its terrace and bar, forms the hub of the Old Bank Hotel. Formerly a banking hall it was transformed by owner Jeremy Mogford to become Oxford's largest and most successful restaurant. The Ox Barn is a 56-seater destination restaurant under the direction of Head Chef, Charlie Hibbert. Rooted in a passion for the local land, food and entertaining, the carefully curated menus are farm-based and plant-inspired. His team and the gardeners at Thyme work together to select and grow the fruits, vegetables and herbs used to create his Modern British Countryside fare. The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings.     As always our favourite place for an Indian. Having just come back from Rajasthan it was certainly authentic, however unfortunately UK prices are somewhat higher than in New Delhi!

    We visit Quod regularly and after today's meal I question why we hadn't been for a while. First course good although needed to borrow someone else's teeth to crack the croutons. Calves liver superb, could have been a little more pink but so difficult to do in a large restaurant with thin slices, mash, kale and bacon and tasty sauce set the whole meal off. Our waitress who we now know well was as good as ever and at £34.60 a head great value. See you again soon!

    Food was superb. Nice sized portions and really reasonable. Really nice atmosphere as well, definitely coming back.

    We had a fabulous dinner at The White Hart. We were hosting friends visiting from Australia and they were impressed by the high quality of the food and the atmosphere. The service was also excellent. Our only minor complaint would be the high volume conversations (at times bordering on shouting) on the adjacent table which made conversation at our table difficult on occasion. But despite this our dinner was at the very top end for a village pub.
