We first curate the wine list which includes 65+ wines by the glass and then design a food menu that specifically complements the wine. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Julian Silvera who spent his early culinary career in restaurants in his native NYC. He then took his talents to Florida's Knife and Spoon, where he helped garner a coveted Michelin star. Chef Julian is passionate about sourcing hyperlocal ingredients & has a strong focus on sustainability. Nestled in downtown Los Gatos, Polenteria serves up Italian cuisine, that is Celiac safe. We are a small 22 seat restaurant, that is very intimate. With a European feel, many of our guests proclaim that they have been whisked away to Italy or France. We love that! Many accolades from the SF Chronicle, and the Mercury News as well as Eater SF hail Chef Yvonne and her team at Polenteria for being on the cutting edge of the Gluten Free Movement, and more importantly providing a safe space for those with Celiac to dine without hesitation. We celebrated our anniversary. They gave us the table we requested and made us a special “happy anniversary” card too, and decorated our dessert. We are regulars and they remembered us. Very enjoyable.

We celebrated three special birthdays that were made even better by a perfect experience in every way. The exceptionally warm and attentive staff adds so much to this place, we felt like we were part of their family. And of course the food was excellent. The appetizer sea scallops dish is one of my all-time favorites. I had a double order as my main course, it was perfecto!

The cashew chicken salad was delicious! The lavender & lemon “Refresher” mocktail was a perfect accompaniment. We arrived at 11:30 and it was nice and quiet. It became more loud and lively as the place filled up. Tip: It is one of the few local restaurants open on Monday, so a reservation is a must! Parkside remains one of my favorite lunch spots. 👍🏻
