Please see the menu link below to see an example of our offerings.Partners Matt Kelly and Josh “Skinny” DeCarolis are proud to offer Mothers & Sons, a trattoria in downtown Durham featuring regional Italian food with seasonal sensibility. DeCarolis introduces the first restaurant in the South to focus on fatta a mano —handmade pasta. Mothers and Sons offers antipasti dishes such seasonal bruschettas or smoked octopus. Choose from primi dishes like the bucatini al amatriciana, squid ink tonnarelli or rigatoni alla norma and secondi dishes like the bistecca alla floretina and eggplant parmigiana. Dishes are made with seasonal ingredients so menus may change depending on when you visit.     My wife and I treated our older son, Dr. Thompson, and his twins (girl and boy!) to lunch there today for their, the twins, 19th birthday. We had eaten there several tines in the past as our daughter graduated from Duke, and we always enjoyed eating there. We have always been very pleased there!!

    This is a restaurant that I keep coming back to. The food is amazing, cocktails are well thought out and the staff and management are brilliant. It is so well run and It is rare you get all of these together with great ambience.

    First time visit. Terrific pasta, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Try the white ragu and anything with the tajarin-style pasta. Creative cocktails. Cool vibe. Impeccable service. We will return!

    Breakfast at the JB Duke Marketplace is top notch. They have a buffet-type option that includes a full omelet bar and lots of other delicious foods, but if you can't find something that interests you there, they also have a menu you can order off of. Service is typically excellent. Parking can be a hassle, as your only option is a paid parking garage adjacent to the hotel, but if you stop by the front desk after your meal, they will give you a parking validation ticket
