The District GastroBar has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant's entrance, a well ­curated modern speak easy with a nostalgic vintage ambiance and an eclectic array of "one ­off" pieces of Prohibition and 1940 era inspired artwork. Walk past the restaurants front door, guests encounter a antique bronze tin ceiling wrapped around historic 1900 brick, custom vintage lighting, but only the adventurous will discover all that The District GastroBar has to offer. The cuisine, much like the design, is intended to set a new course.     My partner and I have always wanted to try this place and decided to just send it and come here on a random Wednesday night. And it was AMAZING. The ambiance was SO aesthetic and immersive. Our server, Arian, and his server assistant Abr, took such good care of us. Even the staff besides Arian and Abr paid us attention - they would suddenly appear and take the wine out of our hands if we attempted to pour it ourselves. Arian's wine recommendation paired well with both our entrees and he timed the coursing of the meal perfectly. The food was delicious!!!! Especially the baba ghanoush. We were also blown away by the Vanilla Creme Brûlée. We weren't even speaking while eating it, just looking at each other, nodding our heads, and pointing back at the little dessert. It was such a beautiful experience.

    We eat at Kres during the broadway show season at Doctor Phillips and they never disappoint. We shared a bucatini pasta in white parmesan sauce with spinach, bay scallops, and filet mignon. It was amazing. We also had the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing, beautiful tomatoes with fried onion crisps and a mild cheese crumbled on top. Service is always top notch. Drinks were great.
