Serop's is the pioneer of Chicken Shawarma (see picture left or above on mobile) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The earliest form of Serop's opened in Baton Rouge in 1979. Chicken Shawarma was a staple of the Greek and Lebanese restaurant scene in the beginning and is still a popular menu item today. Chicken Shawarma (marinated Chicken Breasts) and Gyros (a mixture of Beef and Lamb), both healthy and delicious, are slow-roasted vertically and basted with olive oil, garlic, and spices. How many superlatives can I give to the meal and the service we had. She says best meal she has ever had and she has eaten all over the US and the world. The food, the drinks - WOW!!! Our waitress was wonderful, made great suggestions and was very friendly. Great Christmas Eve dinner.

The bacon, lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich was outstanding as were the onion rings. Overall a very enjoyable experience! I recommend making a reservation as they were very busy.
