                                                      We celebrated our anniversary at the restaurant. The co-owner was very kind and moved us from the bar seating to a table. The food was excellent; we shared a warm goat salad and a plate of charcuterie to start followed by the coq au vin and a hanger steak with fries. The portions were generous Thank you for thoughtful and attentive service. Very grateful for the complimentary dessert.

                                                      Wonderful dinner, great service and delicious food. Loved our salads: shaved Brussels sprouts with almonds and a special salad of smoked trout and vegetables. Fish entree with lobster bisque sauce was delicious as well as risotto. Classic floating island for dessert. Can’t wait to go back.

                                                      Another unforgettable experience! Been here for years - and each every time, the food and service never fail to amaze me! Came here with bf for anniversary dinner: our server was very knowledgeable with food and wine pairing suggestions and paced everything perfectly! Each dish and course was well executed! My favorite French bistro in town !

                                                      Very positive reviews are well warranted. Lovely small restaurant, food and service excellent; the apple tartine was not what I expected but all is forgiven. Highly recommend.

                                                      I’ve been dining at this lovely restaurant since it first opened and it’s always a great experience, especially the ambiance and service. This was the 2nd year in a row we chose l’ardoise for NYE, it’s a special spot to bring in a new year. The food was good but a few things were off. We’ve found this is typical for holiday pre-fixe meals due to maximizing table turn and more or less mass producing fewer items. The little caviar puff was stale and dry. The profiteroles desert had the same issue- dry stale pastry. Mains (duck and sea bass) were delicious, starters a mixed bag (the ravioli was superb but pate was very bland). We’ll be back for a regular menu night soon

                                                      L’Ardoise is my favorite San Francisco restaurant. The staff, chefs, are amazing. Ambience wonderful. Food excellent. Feels like a warm hug when I’m there. Happy New Year

                                                      The food is wonderful. I had the brussel sprout salad and the filet mignon. My waitress, I believe her name is Eva, she is so wonderful and made my dining experience very pleasant and comfortable. Thank you !
