At home amidst the historic buildings surrounding Sonoma's historic plaza, LaSalette Restaurant has earned its reputations as one of the Sonoma Valley's favorite restaurants since its inception in 1998. Chef Manuel Azevedo's signature Cozinha Nova Portuguesa "New Portuguese Cuisine" -celebrates the varied and complex flavors of his native Portuguese homeland while adapting them to the immense offerings of top-quality ingredients from his current home in California. The result is a unique cuisine characterized by familiar Southern European comfort ingredients, exotic seasonings picked from around the globe during hundreds of years of Portuguese expeditionary voyages, and fresh local and seasonal Californian produce. As the success of LaSalette attests, it’s a winning combination for lovers of traditional Portuguese fare and adventurous gourmets alike.

                                        Very accommodating staff as we had an unfortunate 20 minute wait, yet they gave us drinks on the house to apologize. Food was very tasty & the options were gr8.

                                        Two couples went for lunch and sat on the patio next to an outdoor heater. It was very pleasant and our server was nice and very knowledgeable. It is a little treat that they served a complementary amuse bouche as well as a small finishing sweet after the meal. The fisherman stew was very nice, as was the lunch special Arroz à la Valenciana. The pork and clam dish was tasty, however a little bit salty. Maybe if there was some rice or bread to go with it, it would not have tasted as salty. The roasted beet salad was just OK. We ordered the bread pudding with fig, flan and ice cream, but we could not really taste the fig in the bread pudding which was the main reason we had ordered it. We have eaten here three or four times and generally enjoy this restaurant and would recommend it to others

                                        Consistent excellent food, service, and setting. A neighborhood gem. Plus for beet salad, branzino, paella, fish and chips and soups.

                                        It was our first time dining here and we had the most wonderful experience! Everything we ordered tasted so flavorful and delicious. But what sets this restaurant apart from all other delicious restaurants is their absolutely outstanding service - every single person who works there is so friendly, attentive and welcoming, it felt like one big family!

                                        I took my daughter there to celebrate her birthday. We lived it up! We started with the beet and goat cheese salad, the grilled octopus and the day boat scallops. All 3 were excellent. We felt guilty ordering the octopus but it was the BEST we'd ever had. We shared the whole branzino with a cilantro vinaigrette which was delicious, too! We also shared a few glasses of various Portuguese wines and loved every one of them. The servers were fantastic as well. We could no have been happier and look forward to returning.

                                        It was a delicious meal on a perfect afternoon. Very thoughtful service in a cozy corner of a charming little alley off the square. The scallop appetizer should be a main course. It was perfect. The farro risotto makes you wonder why more restaurants don't use the grain.

                                        Ambiance and service were excellent. My wife enjoyed her seafood stew, however my feijoada lacked flavor.
