Welcome to L'Auberge Chez François, our French country inn a short distance from the nation's capital that has captivated visitors for over 66 years. L'Auberge Chez François is the ideal spot to celebrate special moments, private parties, luncheons, weddings, and cooking demonstrations. Our menu is extensive and full of the flavors of Alsace and traditional French cuisine.     Our onion soup was excellent and easily spooned from the crock. My veal was nicely prepared and my companion’s steak as ordered. Expresso not overly bitter. Service as expected. Afternoon’s Winter chill tended to by fireplace as snow fell gently outside. This is the way Christmas time is supposed to be.

    My boyfriend and I came to L’Auberge to celebrate his birthday and graduation from his masters program, and we felt in every way celebrated through the service and the food quality and the overall congratulations given to us during our time there. A wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone for a special occasion or just to spice up a date night!

    As always, a very special meal. Loved the between courses cider sorbet palate cleanser, the starting split pea soup, and the fabulous souffles! Excellent wine recommendation too!

    In speaking with our waiter I realized I’ve been delighted by dining at Ches Francois for 40 years. We arrived at 6:00 pm and shortly after being seated my wife and I were greeted by the owner, Chez Jacque. I congratulated Jacque in celebrating the Haeringer family’s 70th year owning and operating Chez Francois. (there was a large stand alone plaque at the entrance announcing the 70 years) Jacque’s comment when I congratulated him was, “yes two generations of crazy restaurateurs”. I could not argue with him. Only absolute dedication, commitment and tireless energy produces the wonderfully amazing results this family has delivered decade after decade. Every bite of food I’ve ever eaten at Chez Francois has been a culinary delight. Every meal I’ve had (I estimate in the neighborhood of 150 meals) have been absolutely enjoyable. Thank you for making my life’s journey a bit more special and Merry Christmas Chez Jacques to you, your family and your entire staff. Gratefully yours Bryan B

    Once again, a lovely dining experience. Our server perfectly paced the meal and each course was delicious. Among the highlights: tender sweetbreads appetizer, rack of lamb and lobster/crab entrees. We were so full and the graciously packed up our desserts in “to go” boxes. A delightful meal.
