Le Bar a Boeuf is a Jean-Robert cozy bistro located in the Edgecliff Building 2200 Victory Parkway in Cincinnati’s East Walnut Hills. Featuring French classics, Jean-Robert favorites and daily specials, we pride ourselves in using the freshest, most local ingredients - always staying true to the seasons.

Jean-Robert and Annette's passion has always been the Bistro and their lifestyle, attitude, and dedication to the community.

    Great food & service until desert. The chocolate pot de creme -both texture & flavor was way off. (And I am a pot de creme aficionado.) I did not mentioas-to wait stay as I always dislike dealing with the effects of complaining, particularly at the end of an otherwise excellent dinner experience. So much of my dissatisfaction is on me.

    We had a very nice meal celebrating a birthday there. The food was good, and service even better. We do miss Jean Ro in the kitchen though. Things were delicious, but a bit of magic was lost in the taste on some. That said, we’ll go back soon. The whole experience was worth it.

    First time visiting and certainly won’t be our last. The entire staff was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and presented perfectly.

    Love the view and the space. Parking is great once you have been there. Tricky your first time. We enjoyed our food and drinks.

    OpenTable specifics are not correct for this place. It says on the website if you want to order beef Wellington, you have to email 2 to 3 days in advance or call. I emailed the correct  email that is listed in OpenTable and I called the phone number several times no one ever answers the phone. I assume they got my message however when we showed up for  our reservation they said they did not get the email with my order. They argued so I showed them the email and they told me it was the incorrect email. The person whose email is listed and OpenTable is no longer working there however they have not updated anything in OpenTable. so we did not get the beef Wellington I thought I pre-ordered in advance. I ended up ordering the special filet mignon medium, plus it was served rare so I sent it back. Overall, the server seemed annoyed and didn’t want to spend any time serving us and they did nothing to try to apologize or do anything for us to make up for what was their mistakes. The food was average for what you pay. The service was not high- quality for what is supposed to be a higher end more expensive restaurant. We will not be back.

    It was our first time there and it is now one of my new favorites. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and within minutes of being seated, the hostess brought us two glasses of champagne on the house for our anniversary. It was very nice. The food was delicious and we loved the small atmosphere. Definitely going to return.

    A delicious meal made all the more delicious by our expert waiter who advised us on our wine pairing. His suggestion elevated the meal and his attention made an enjoyable evening even more so. We enjoyed the bone marrow with short rib. If it’s still on the menu, be sure to order it. The duck medium rare was perfect.
