Review: Disappointing despite good food
We had dinner at this restaurant, and while the food was good, the service was very disappointing.
From the moment we arrived, we waited more than 30 minutes before someone took our order, and no one even asked if we wanted an aperitif. The wine was served at the same time as the food, and no one checked on us during the meal. Despite the presence of a sommelier, we had to wait to have our glasses refilled.
Regarding the seafood platter at £90, one of the clams was not open, which is unacceptable for such a price. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she simply replied, "OK, do you want us to cook it again?"—which we found completely inappropriate.
Finally, after our desserts, no after-dinner drinks were offered, and we had to struggle to get a waiter’s attention just to ask for the bill, leading to another long wait.
In summary, good food, but the service was far too slow and inattentive. A disappointing experience.
