L O C A L was conceptualized by chef_owner Tracy Miller, in 1998. with the inspired vision of becoming a local establishment in Dallas serving a seasonally inspired modern american menu. We are located in the spirited, soulful + historical Boyd Hotel, circa 1911, in Deep Ellum, TX.

Our culinary approach consistently embraces a menu that welcomes the simplest, most honest ingredients available. We are always eager to share our fondness of quality driven products and we stay true to who we are while preparing food that makes us happy.

Every evening we offer our ala carte dinner menu, our 7 course chef's tasting menu and our boutique take away menu. For reservations of 6 or more please contact us at (214) 752-7500.

                                                        Was surprised that the place was not busier. The food was outstanding and the service was good too. The team seemed a little apprehensive, but came through with great recomendations and a great night for us all.

                                                        Restaurant was outstanding but want to start with a warning about parking. Would avoid using the lot next to the restaurant. We’re paid for parking through the app but it’s set up deceptively to make you think you’ve paid for dinner. The lot owner monitors and boots your car while your at dinner. Cost $130 to remove. Meanwhile no problem for the paid street parking. Creed was lovely and has a great menu that is well crafted and tasty. On point service and other than the parking was a great meal and atmosphere.

                                                        Our experience at Local was quite the mixed bag. We arrived at the restaurant somewhat early because we were going before a show. There was one other table in the restaurant. We ordered some drinks that arrived quickly and were good, as well as some fried green beans. So far we were off to a decent start. However, there was a broken speaker in the restaurant that was giving LOTS of static sound - to the point of annoyance. Instead of just turning it off, they offered to move us. We chose to just stay since we had already started eating. Our food arrived (burger and crispy chicken). The burger was covered in some sort of curry spice/sauce that wasn't called out on the menu that my partner didn't like (they took it off the bill) Additionally, it was served with "tater tots", which can only be described as fried mashed potato sticks (much like a fried mozzarella stick, only with a mashed potato mush in the center, it was odd and not tasty at all). I ordered the crispy chicken which was generally pretty tasty, but overly salty. The slaw it came with was amazing. Even with the burger taken off, our bill was over $100 - which is much too pricey for what we got (let me be clear, we have no issue spending money on a great dinner). I don't think we'll be returning.

                                                        A fine though unremarkable tasting menu served way too quickly. Nine courses with wine pairings and it was over in 70 minutes. Guess the staff was in a hurry to pack up and get home, as I was at one of only two tables being served that night.

                                                        Chef Tracey never disappoints!! Beautiful night of food, drink and conversation with friends and clients. Don’t sleep on the tomato soup with the little grilled cheese sandwich!!! My favorite spot in Dallas!!

                                                        Local was fabulous! Our cocktails were very good and unique! Our food was outstanding as well! Our server was lovely. It was a bit odd because we had the entire restaurant to ourselves on a Friday night but nevertheless, it was a great experience!

                                                        Great meal; cool atmosphere. Friendly service staff. Chef Tracey came out to say hello; shared the history of the restaurant (housed in what was the oldest hotel in Dallas). She is an absolute boss! Strongly recommend.
