I’ve always had wonderful experiences at Lockbox, but unfortunately, this time missed the mark. It seems like, in an attempt to accommodate more guests, they added extra tables—including some in places where tables probably shouldn’t exist. I was tucked into the corner of a long couch, facing a table so close that I was practically part of their date. At one point, I debated whether I should introduce myself or just start splitting the check. It felt incredibly smothering.
My own date and I could barely hold a conversation without feeling like we were broadcasting a live podcast to the table next to us. And to make matters more lively, our table was stationed right next to the service station—so the constant buzz of staff activity made it even harder to enjoy the evening.
To top it off, we were ignored at the bar for quite a while, despite sitting right in front of the bartenders, which was a bit embarrassing.
On the bright side, our server was great, and one kind employee even offered to take our photo after watching my husband and me struggle with a selfie—so huge points for that! We received our food in a timely manner as well.
I totally understand that Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest nights of the year, but the seating arrangements really took away from the experience. Sadly, we’re not sure if we’ll be back. Hopefully, they can rethink the layout for the future, because when Lockbox is at its best, it’s truly fantastic!

I’m truly sorry to hear that your recent visit didn’t live up to the standard you’ve come to expect from us. We’ve had a consistent seating arrangement since opening and we’ve never intended for any part of the restaurant to feel too crowded or intrusive. However, we recognize that the unique layout of our space can sometimes feel tight during busy nights and we understand how that can affect your dining experience.
