First, we’ve been going to Lon’s since we first came to AZ 30+ years ago. It’s the quintessential AZ restaurant. We’ve taken countless visitors from out of town there and spent multiple birthday dinners there. I’ve hosted holiday parties there. It awesome to sit outside. The service is great and the food is very good. BUT, the prices have just gotten absurd. $60-65 for an entree. One of our friends had a beet salad which was $18. They asked if they could add protein. Of course. Additional $33 for a few scallops. There are very few places in phoenix that command those types of prices, like cafe monarch. But there, it’s really a 5 star experience. While Lon’s is quintessential, it’s not 5 star. I’m going to have to think next time friends are in town, whether it’s worth the additional cost to go there. There are other wonderful places that have more reasonable prices. I can afford it, but will I? It just didn’t seem right.

Patio dinning was fantastic. Great ambiance. The salmon was not very fresh and overcooked. The short ribs were very average and tasteless. The seabass and the venison loin were both fantastic. So the batting average was 50-50. For the price I would expect an amazing meal.

We celebrate my Mother Inlaw’s Birthday. She absolutely loved it & the ornament martini as well!! Plus the staff gave her a wonderful Birthday card too.

Outstanding romantic, mainly outdoor restaurant with high quality, creative dishes. Filet and seared tuna, Hermosa salad and Brussel sprouts and the cowboy snickers bar for dessert with a fountain, musician and heaters.

Food was delicious and the sommelier was the highlight of the night. Super thoughtful and energetic and helped up get the best wine.
