L'Opossum offers dinner Tuesday-Saturday for parties of one to a maximum of six guests. Multiple reservations booked on the same night to form a group larger than six guests are not permitted and will be canceled. Reservations for parties of one to four guests are allotted 2 hours. Parties of five to six guests are allotted 2.5 hours. Please be courteous to your fellow diners by arriving and leaving on time.     How to describe my favorite restaurant in Richmond and one of my favorites of all time...the experience starts once you walk in. The music, the art, the names of the dishes on the menu. For a few seconds the sounds and sights are like a roller coaster running full steam, but then everything settles into place and your visit begins to flow. Fresh truffle service tableside? This is the place to do that. Mac and Cheese with Maine Lobster and that truffle service? Sign me up. Swashbuckling Bundt Pirate cake served on a classic Aquaman plate for desert? Yes please. Just don't forget to get your reservation in well in advance. Dress code isn't stuffy, but leave the ball cap in the car.

    Great as always but time for a menu change.Had soup special, French onion gratin, crab cakes and halibut, and chocolate dessert. The soup special was delicious!

    Of the places in Richmond for dining. This is easily a Top 5 Experience. It can be hard to get a reservation, but it's worth it. The food is fantastic.

    It’s just so cool. A little pricey, but well worth it. Also, the vegan entrée was the best vegan entrée I’ve ever had.

    So overhyped and overpriced I almost feel as if they’re trolling us, a la “The Menu”??? The first red flag was when we sat down, the table next to us was “finished” but their plates were full. They made a big deal about serving us complementary “mint infused water” when there was not even the slightest hint of mint and the water wasn’t even filtered, just straight tap. The drinks tasted like something you would throw together at home with some juices in your fridge. We are normally 2-3 drinks at dinner kind of people, but they were so mediocre that we didn’t want to waste getting more drinks there. Our server couldn’t look more bothered and miserable about being there. Food was edible but definitely not worth the price point. After spending almost $200 for 2 drinks, 1 app and 2 entrees they gave my husband a single candle on an empty ramekin for his birthday — we weren’t expecting anything at all and I would much rather them have given us nothing than that frankly insulting gesture. I promise I never leave reviews like this but we felt so taken advantage of that I feel it wouldn’t be right not to try and warn others. Would not recommend to anyone….there are so many other wonderful restaurants in Richmond to patronize.

    What a superb dining experience we had at this wonderful unique restaurant! The decor is eclectic, and the overhead music complimented the environment. Our waitress arrived very quickly to fill the water glasses & explain the evening's specials. Our appetizers were delivered in a reasonable time and were incredibly delicious - duck for her and oysters rock for me. The plate preparation was lovely, and the flavors were elevated to a melodic blend that moved me close my eyes and flavor-focus on every bite. Then came the delivery of her perfectly cooked medium rare filet mignon & my crab cakes. These plates were also artfully displayed and equally delicious. Again, the flavors of the seasonings were a superb blend that required no enhancement for our taste. Needless to say, the plates were empty when they were returned to the kitchen. Their lavender-limoncello creme brulee' completed our evening's meal on a sweet and delicious note. I highly recommend you visit this delightful Richmond treasure on Pine St. Thank you David - great job!

    Elite service and food. Best restaurant in town. One of my guests got the wrong order, but the staff rushed the right order in, paid for his meal, and gifted us a free desert. Great example of it is ok to mess up, it’s how you respond. Can’t wait to go back!
