Mamma Roma is an authentic Italian restaurant located at 4/7 Antigua Street Edinburgh. Situated very close to the Edinburgh Playhouse, this restaurant is not only great for Pre-Theatre diners but also has a delicious and extensive choice of menus to satisfy all customers. The restaurant can also be found within a 10 minute walk of Princes Street Gardens and a convenient 5 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley train station. Mamma Roma’s restaurant is spread over multiple floors. The main dining area is decorated in Tuscan farmhouse style with paintings and medallions embellishing the walls. Special attention is given to the elaborate list of pasta and pizza delicacies and a bowl of gelato or a plate of tiramisu helps to round off a meal on a savory note.

Paccheri pasta are very large hollow tubes, approximately an inch in diameter, a bit like giant macaroni. They originate from Naples and are an absolute classic of Neapolitan cuisine. Cooked with prawns, crevettes, artichokes, garlic and cherry tomatoes.

Strigoli are shaped by rolling a small piece of dough on a flat surface to form a short, round length of pasta with tapered ends, then twisting it to form the final shape. Cooked with fresh cherry tomatoes, prawns, courgettes, garlic, wine and basil.

Absolutely amazing meal and the service was warm and attentive. Food pricing was right for the quality and quantity. Spirits were quite costly at £24 for two doubles. Would definitely come again.請問這對你有幫助嗎？

This was our third visit after a show at the playhouse although we hadn't appreciated there were 3 different parts to the restaurant having gone in on street level we were told no booking, then redirected upstairs then taken downstairs. Nevertheless the food was good the bread starter was very nice, the fillet steak main was good although no steak knife was provided meaning cutting through it proved a little difficult and the request for vinegar for the chips brought balsamic not malt. The vanilla ice cream was lovely. My husband enjoyed his avacado starter and monk fish main but was a little underwhelmed with the coconut cheesecake dessert. It wasn't easy getting sweeteners for my tea either given one had to ask for another. Unfortunately not as good an experience as being upstairs in the main restaurant.請問這對你有幫助嗎？

The food was delicious. The staff were professional and friendly. I've been to other restaurants close to the Playhouse at a similar time and been very rushed by staff, but not here. First time trying here and would definitely come back.請問這對你有幫助嗎？

A lovely afternoon catching up with my friend in this restaurant. Staff lovely, welcoming and happy to oblige but not at your table all the time to be annoying. Food delicious and not expensive & no service charge so you are able to leave your own tip. We will certainly be returning. This is a wee favourite now of ours.請問這對你有幫助嗎？
