Mamma Roma is an authentic Italian restaurant located at 4/7 Antigua Street Edinburgh. Situated very close to the Edinburgh Playhouse, this restaurant is not only great for Pre-Theatre diners but also has a delicious and extensive choice of menus to satisfy all customers. The restaurant can also be found within a 10 minute walk of Princes Street Gardens and a convenient 5 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley train station. Mamma Roma’s restaurant is spread over multiple floors. The main dining area is decorated in Tuscan farmhouse style with paintings and medallions embellishing the walls. Special attention is given to the elaborate list of pasta and pizza delicacies and a bowl of gelato or a plate of tiramisu helps to round off a meal on a savory note.

Paccheri pasta are very large hollow tubes, approximately an inch in diameter, a bit like giant macaroni. They originate from Naples and are an absolute classic of Neapolitan cuisine. Cooked with prawns, crevettes, artichokes, garlic and cherry tomatoes.

We enjoyed our food and the service was pleasant but a bit haphazard as the restaurant was so busy. For example, we had to ask for tap water three times and we were initially billed for 4 extra drinks.請問這對你有幫助嗎？

I have not been to this restaurant for some time and sadly, in that time, it has gone downhill. The restaurant was a rabble on entering and my booking was not on the list, despite me calling a few nights before, that said the staff did accommodate us albeit with a dodgy uneven table against a wall/gate hardly comfortable and with little/no room between tables. We heard every bit of the conversations around us. The service was slow and food ok, our starters were basic - by that I mean we have eaten Italian many times and the bruschetta was shocking - in short it was tomato on bread - no onions no balsamic and when my friend got balsamic it was a very cheap version. The soup - blah, not as tasty as I expected. Main meals, my friends was incorrect to start with and the replacement dish was very underwhelming, it was basic pasta/sauce (little/no flavour) and the chicken was battered within an inch of it's life, very tough. When we were approached about our meals, my friend was politely honest however the response was quite defensive and not appreciated. To be clear this meal was taken off our bill. This is no longer an authentic Italian cuisine like I have known in the past, overpriced and quite honestly would neither recommend or return. Such a shame, the experience I have had in the past had been wonderful and I have continually raved about it but sadly no longer a favourite for us.Mamma Roma Ristorante已在5天前回覆Hello we are very sorry to hear about you experience in regards to the reservation.
