Marathon has served the neighborhoods of Philadelphia for over 25 years as a family-run restaurant group. We serve well-made American classics, and strive to source the freshest food locally available to us, including from our own Marathon Farm in Brewerytown, Philadelphia. Our favorite farm to table items include our grass-fed Cheesesteak, free-range Turkey Plate, and fluffy Omelets made with cage-free eggs.

During our visit to Marathon Grill, the food was great—everything we ordered was delicious and well-prepared. However, the service left a bit to be desired. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, it took quite a while for our waitress to check back on us. Simple requests, like napkins, were delayed, which impacted the overall experience. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the place itself had a nice vibe. With a little improvement in service, it could be a fantastic dining spot.

The food selection was so exciting but ALL OF IT was bland. We had the mac & cheese, matzoh ball soup, meatloaf, chicken, pot, pie, and short rib, and all of it could have used two or three helpings of salt and seasoning. Very disappointing

They did not tell my mom they were out of her order until ALL of our orders had already come out. She had to order a tasteless salad because that would have been the fastest thing to come out to avoid waiting another 30 for a meal. Ridiculous

We love Marathon! The food is excellent and there's something for everyone (including dietary restrictions). Drinks and desserts are equally delicious. The service is always prompt, kind, and personal. Marathon's atmosphere is cozy yet spacious and located in a super popular part of the city!

Thia is the second time we've dined here. We started with a bowl of the delicious tomato basil and the calamari. We had the soup on our first visit, and it didn't disappoint this time either. The calamari was a bit spicy, but it was very tasty. I tried the cheese steak (only because I haven't eaten one yet this trip) tasty but not one you search out for. My wife had the grilled chicken breast, very nice. My daughter enjoyed the vegetable capaillnini with shrimp. Great service and ambiance. Definitely stop in again next time we're in Philadelphia.

Busy day at Marathon. Usually a big fan, but they were extremely busy thanks in large part to the Philadelphia MArathon being held, the food was fine but not as good as usual (and it is usually pretty tasty - think elevated diner food), and despite the server's best efforts food service was very slow - 45+ minutes from order to the start of staggered delivery to the table. Still a fan of the restaurant, where I've been many times before, but probably will not be quite as quick to make a reservation as before this vist.
