Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

                                                                  Service was amazing as usual and the wine selection very nice as usual. The Tagine was disappointing vs. previous versions of this dish that Marche has offered over the years. The flavors were limited and missing the interesting characteristics of previous versions. Won't order this again. The Short Ribs were just OK; the sauce was overwhelming and rather bland, and the ribs were not the highest quality beef. Another dish not to order again. As always, the ambiance was enjoyable and wine and oysters very nice. Always a welcoming and comfortable restaurant. However, the main dishes were uninspired and disappointing vs. the many experiences at Marche over the past 20+ years.

                                                                  Great restaurant! Some of the best truffles I’ve ever had. Waiter was polite and very knowledgeable about the drinks and food menu! Will definitely come back if I’m in Eugene again! Gave my husband a complimentary dessert for his birthday too!

                                                                  I had my 60th birthday dinner at Marche, as I have many of my past celebrations. This one was by far the most memorable. I truly appreciate having such a fine place in town to spend my special times.

                                                                  We had a great experience at Marche. I had coq au vin which was delicious and tender. The service was outstanding and the timing perfect. Our server was very professional. It was expensive but I expected that. I’m glad we celebrated our anniversary here.

                                                                  Loved the beet salad and Brussels sprout pizzetta. The mussels, not so much. Kind of bland. Our server was top-notch, really liked everything else.

                                                                  Service was very rude from the moment we walked in until we left. Quite possibly the most pretentious restaurant I’ve ever been to for very average food. $7 for a kids orange juice. Not even fresh squeezed. Just all around awful experience and we will not be back.

                                                                  Excellent as usual! Our waiter was very attentive, sorry that I forgot his name. I go here when I’m in town visiting my college kids. The food is always delicious.

                                                                  Our server, Coby, ignored us the whole meal in spite not being over run or too busy. There was no engagement or attention provided at all, it was to the point of being invisible and disrespected. Other tables were served and waited on, we were ignored and told more than once that there was no hurry to leave but were then told twice that we could move to the bar. There was no line waiting for our table and they were still open for another hour. The food was ok, not great, but there was no match in the value price, quality and service. I don’t plan to return and will definitely share my experience with others. I would expect a lot more from a $250 date night dinner.
