Matteo’s Osteria is Italian Soulfood in the heart of Wailea located at The Wailea Town Center. As the 2016 ‘Aipono Award winner for Best Italian Food on Maui, 2020 & 2022 Aipono Silver Award Best Italian we invite you to savor our locally-sourced ingredients, fresh-made pastas, local caught fish and scrumptious entrées. Our traditional style comes from the influence of award-winning Best Chef on Maui, Matteo Mistura, born and raised in Liguria, Italy. From the beginning, everything was perfect. We tried to move our reservation up earlier in the evening and Michelle did a fantastic job on taking care of that for us. Our waiter Michael was over the top. Not only was very good at his job, but his personality was one that everyone wants in a waiter. This is one employee you do not want to lose. The food was spectacular and all these things together made for a perfect evening. We will definitely be back. I was particularly impressed with the flow in the restaurant. The waiters did their job, the bus boys did their job and you had dedicated servers to bring the food out. That ensures hot food arriving when it’s supposed to and not delayed by a waiter, who’s taking an order somewhere else and having the food sit under a heat lamp.

As always, great service from Michael! The Caesar salad was lovely as was the mahi mahi special--- the sauce that was served with it was delish -- presentation was the nicest I've seen.. risotto it was served on , was yummy. We have dined here several times during our winter stay.. will be going back soon!

Great atmosphere and our server was awesome. Drinks were very good. Dinner was very good. I Recommend the spare ribs and the lasagna. Would go back.

Great staff, very attentive. Salad and apps very good. Butternut squash ravioli was really sweet for an entree. My mom loved the lasagna though. No view, but cute patio.

Took a very long time for food to arrive even though there the restaurant was not full. My entree of fish was lukewarm but my husbands lasagna was piping hot…food was under seasoned but good. Service was good- but again it was a long wait for everything.

Fantastic dinner with friends at Matteo's! The food is always excellent and you could not find better service anywhere! The wine is also stellar. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees including the Mahi Mahi, carbonara, spaghetti bolognese, ravioli, bruschetta and caprese salad. For dessert our group enjoyed the torta del nonno, tiramisu and affogato. They were all delicious. You cannot go wrong with dinner here.

Generally great food. Somewhat overpriced for the value. Cesar salad-vegan by request, was kind of a joke---just basically a bowl of romaine lettuce with balsamic vinegar and oil dressing
