Nestled in historic Union Hill, we specialize in contemporary German and European food from award winning chef Brittanny Anderson. Expect to see inspirations from classic German, French, Italian, Austrian & European cuisine, using local products. We specialize in German and Austrian wine from small producers, organic, and natural wines. Our cocktails are unique and approachable, featuring house made ingredients. We have a large German beer selection mixed with some local drafts. Our atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, great for special occasions or weekday date nights. We offer a private dining room and full restaurant buyouts. Come see us for dinner Tue-Sat, and Sunday brunch, and for happy hour at the bar Tue-Fri 5pm-9pm.

                  Tess was absolutely wonderful in making this a birthday celebration to remember. From the beginning, she was a member of our family. We all enjoyed her food and drink recommendations that were spot on. The weather was rather bad on the outside, but the environment was fantastic on the inside. Fun was had by all, a large party of lucky seven!

                  Such a wonderful place with a welcoming, knowledgeable staff. This is a must-visit restaurant for me when I’m in Richmond. Everything I’ve ever tried on the menu is fabulous, and the cocktails are creative and perfectly balanced! Love it!

                  I love this restaurant! The food is fantastic, I got the 1/2 chicken and my husband got the pork schnitzel- and it was so so yummy! I also had a great drink called Tis the Season - delicious as well! The server was awesome - she gifted us a birthday champagne drink completely unasked - it was so sweet of her! They said they were short staffed but we couldn’t tell! Excellent service delicious food & drink, cozy atmosphere! Highly recommend 😊

                  It was a phenomenal experience. The wait staff was excellent. Answered our questions about the food, drinks, etc. The food was amazing, we were fortunate enough to try many items off the menu and every one of them was incredible. 10/10 will be back!!

                  We enjoyed the unique flavors, but the lighting was so dark that I couldn’t fully enjoy it aesthetically. We asked them right away to turn up the lights, and they reluctantly did since we had some older members of our group. Still...after bringing home the leftovers and seeing it proper lighting, I could see how lovely some of the dishes were. It was challenging to bring ages ranging from 12-87. Everyone, including the 12 year old, had to use a flashlight to see the menu. The knives were not very sharp or large enough for some of the dishes, so trying to cut things in the dark was also difficult. This was all even after we asked them to turn up the lights! There were huge, messy, peel-it-yourself prawns swimming in an oily sauce, which the 12 year old ordered. We asked the chef to peel it for him, and they would not. Again, hard to do in the dark when you're 12 and never done it before. ;) They tasted good but the experience seemed catered to what the restaurant thought was cool, rather than to what the customers wanted.

                  Tess and Lily took care of us from the moment we walked in the door for brunch today. The Bloody Mary and espresso martini were perfection. My husband and I ordered Hash which was delicious and our friend enjoyed the grits entree (but he opted out of the garlic cabbage). For dessert we ordered the crepe with cream, apple and Nutella, sprinkled with a sweet crisp. Divine!!!! We will return.
