Led by chef and owner Hector Diaz, Modesto features a farm to table approach to upscale wood-fired Italian. The menu changes twice daily and includes a variety of fresh seafood, fine meats, and house made pastas. Pizzas are hand-tossed and cooked in a wood fired oven made in Italy. To compliment your meal, our bar offers over 30 exclusively Italian wines as well as a dynamic list of classic and cutting edge cocktails. Desserts are made from scratch, including our famous tiramisu, and we proudly serve SRO Coffee.

    Every experience I have at Modesto is wonderful. The food is amazing and the service is always top notch. (Forever love Eli!) I can't recommend Modesto enough. My favorite place in Asheville.

    Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn’t open until 1200 - not 1130 as advertised and which was shown by open table !

    We had reservations for dinner on Saturday after it snowed on Friday. The restaurant never contacted us to tell us they closed. The restaurant has a cancellation policy that charges $40 per person (!) if you don’t show up or cancel less than 24 hours in advance so we were afraid we would be charged if we didn’t show up. No one answered the phones Friday or Saturday, or answered messages sent on social media, so we assumed they were closed but an email sent through open table notifying us of the closure would have been nice. We were visiting from out of town and I ended up sending my husband in an Uber to verify in person they were closed, not wanting to risk a $280 charge for our party of 7. Very disappointed.

    Truly one of the best culinary experiences in Asheville. A go to for special events. Service is first class.

    My very fav Asheville venue. Every dish is exceptional and a great value. Service is consistent, friendly and helpful. I just love everything about this place … visit soon and often.

    Seating was crowded. Food was just okay and price is very high. We would have expected a much better experience based on the meal costs.

    We had a table for 6. The server was very accommodating and was able to suggest two vegan options they could create with what they had. The food came out in a timely manner and we were out of there in 1 he and 15 minutes.
